The Old Vicarage in Easingwold is an imposing "listed" Georgian house of great interest, the main part of which was built in 1761, with additional wings constructed in 1812. Built of mellow hand-made bricks in the Flemish bond, it is a very fine example of the building craftsmanship of the period.

Set back from the market place and surrounded by pleasant lawned gardens, with croquet lawn and walled rose garden, the Old Vicarage is an ideal setting in which to relax and unwind. Its situation in the charming market town of Easingwold, makes it an excellent base for touring York, the Dales, the Yorkshire Moors and the "Herriot" countryside. For those wishing to visit York without the stress and cost of parking, there are excellent bus services with journey times as little as 30 minutes.

Within Easingwold the Old Vicarage occupies a quiet location overlooking the market place, thereby offering easy access to a wide selection of restaurants, pubs and tea-and-coffee houses. There is a weekly Friday market and a farmers market and often other events of interest to visitors. The town sports a number of gift, antique, special interest shops and delicatessens selling local produce. Many places of historical and architectural importance are within easy reach.

The house is accessed by car from Tanpit Lane (see location map) and has ample provision for secure parking within its grounds.
